Care to Adopt

It’s great to know that there is an agency here in the US who cares about the less fortunate kids in the world. I’m talking about ICA ( Institute for Children’s Aid). ICA is a voice of hope for children worldwide. This agency has been fully licensed non-profit adoption, foster care, and humanitarian aid in California since 1990.

Here’s the good news, 8 kids (orphans) from the Philippines ages 8-13 will be coming here in Temecula California on Nov. 5 - Dec 1, 2009. The mission of ICA is to introduce them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and find them Christian adoptive families.

Who are the lucky kids from the Philippines? I could only give their first names : Rose Anne, Fritz, Florence (they are siblings btw), Armie Anne, Joshua , James, Patricia and Raymond.

Our Toddler

Arianna is officially a toddler. She just turned 1 on Sept 18. She loves to walk most of the time but the fact that she loves to cry didn’t change. She still want our attention , want to be held or else cry cry cry like an infant. At her age, she still wakes up in the middle of the night. Last night, she stayed up from 12:30AM until 2:30AM. Imagine that.

In fairness to Arianna, she is also a sweet little girl and a joker. When she hears fart, she would imitate the sound using her mouth. She knew two Filipino words (ako and ikaw)..When she’ll say “ako” she would also touch or tap her chest confirming that she’s she. When she’s in the mood like today, she kissed me and her daddy back and forth (that was so sweet of her). She loves her doll too. She would carry it just like a baby… and she hugs it when she sleeps.

Once in my life I dreamed to become a nurse. It was a part of my thought back then that I was wearing a white outfit and operates medical apparatus. I even thought the difference between Philippine Hospital and US Hospital. I have heard that in the US everything is high-tech . Now, that I’m here in the US and stayed for few days in the hospital , I have noticed that medical equipments here such as exam tables are very different compared in the Philippines. Most of the apparatus here are computerized.

Love to Watch

If the price is right, let's go get a movie and watch for only 99 cents ( All movies, All new releases). We do rent a movie almost everyday, why not? It's cheap and original copy (opps! there's no "pirated" in the US, only in the Philippines). We normally rent horror (for hubby), love story (for me) and movies for kids (4 Bienne). I also learned to love watching horror movies and sometimes I watched alone because hubby fell asleep. You can find cheap movies at HQ and redbox. Speaking of movies, we also love to watch in the Temeku cinema for only $3.50! Amazing price unlike in Edwards Cinemas cost $9 to $15 per person.

Food Supplements

The hubby is watching his diet now. He is measuring the amount of foods he’s eating and he does exercise regularly. He wants to live longer at least four more decades. I support his endeavors because I don’t want to live alone when I’m old. I also want to be with him on our old-age stage. I’m also watching my diet, I see to it that I’m eating the right foods and if there is a need to take weight loss supplements, I’d consider that as well.
