Lovely Smell of Dried Fish

I love to eat dried fish at least once a week. Each time I eat bulad (dried fish), I could eat as much as three cups of rice! I couldn’t stop myself from eating, so yummy to avoid! I see to it though that hubby is out when I cook bulad because he’s not used with the smell of fried bulad. But for me, bulad’s smell is as good as the taste. I believed that bulad is the hero back in my country (Philippines) .Without bulad, I bet the number of death is more than what it is right now due to starvation. Bulad is cheap and affordable for families who are in below poverty level.

It is more delicious if vinegar and tomatoes are on the side of bulad, they are perfect combination. There are many kinds of bulad and my favorite one is small sapsap. There’s also bulad that is not that smelly but it is more pricey. I forgot the term but they are available in Cebu. That was the kind of bulad that I craved when I was pregnant of baby Arianna.

Do you like to try eat bulad (dried fish)? If you don’t then eat balut instead.

The picture reminds me of the time Mayang and I had lunch at home. We had bulad and Gourmet Tuyo, eaten with brown rice. Mayang brought tomatoes and our sawsawan was vinegar with garlice. I miss bonding with her. Of course, we met because you introduced us :)
